    six

there are now six states in the US with same sex marriage. ftw! states (and canada) in pink represent plases that have gay marriage, light pink, new york, recognizes marriage performed elsewhere, dark blue are states with full DP/CU (Domestic Partnership/Civil Union) laws, light blue is limited DP/CU laws, red states have statutes prohibiting gay marriage, and states in black are the worst of all! they have constitutional amendments in their bullshit constitutions prohibiting gay marriage or gay marriage AND civil unions. assholes right? finally grey states are states that have no law barring gay marriage, but also no law providing it. keep in mind that every one of the states that has DP/CU laws also has a statutory ban or constitutional ban on gay marriage. joyous huh? oh well were making progress
basically it all comes down to this. that southern extension of canada thats amazing and we like to call New England and say is part of the US, is AMAZING (except for Rhode Island, which has no laws), and that little island of pink in the red and black...Iowa...thats also amazing. states with DPs/CUs...kinda sort. if your into segregation. red states are 2nd lowest, and black states are just horrible states that sicken me...idk.. i was bored so i did this.
i really hope new york and new jersey follow most of new englands suit...this year. theres probably not hope in Rhode Island until the next election...their governor would veto even if they did pass it. even though 60% of rhode islanders agree with giving marriage to same sex couples. but whatev.

    Green Day Goodie

so this one is an oldie already (happened on may 22nd...omg ancient), greenday performed a number of songs, including their old 90s hit 'Longview' and the censors totally messed up. which is amazing. i wish i could have been in that crowd, just to swear on network tv!! they let two shits and one fuck in, they didnt even try to censor the last word. hahaha. censorship sucks. heres the vid:

now some more goodies from tv:

    this one made me giggle!!!

not on network, but still funny:

sticking with msnbc, but this time ultrarightwing morning anchor joe scarborough. the first time i heard it...well i didnt hear it, it didnt stick out because its very conversational:

this seems to be from an LA cbs station, KCAL. i love that shaq doesnt give a shit:

it seems anticlimactic, in retrospect, that i put a video with the word asshole last...but i dont want to change the post around anymore than i am by writing this.
whatev, im done. in short, lighten the fuck up america!

    5:

Welcome to New Hampshire, currently we are going to the House of Reps to be passed again, this time with senate provisions, then there's a pretty good chance that the Governor will either sign us into law, or let us become law without signature. Next stop: Maine.
I <3 New Hampshire, I really didn't think the senate would pass it. What I've been hearing is that the Governor is against it, but will likely sign it or let it become law without signature (he is a democrat so he has to watch his ass on issues like these where a majority of people in New Hampshire are for marriage for same sex couples). Here's to hoping the governor will allow the will of the people, and legislature reign over his personal opinion!

douchebag of the [unspecified amount of time]

    From WCAX in Vermont:

Same sex marriage supporters have cited civil rights as an issue in the debate, which got Bill Hogan's attention. "It occurs to me that there is a civil rights issue," he said. "The presumption when asked by somebody I'm just meeting that I'm married, that -- oh -- to a man or a woman? I think that change of the definition violates civil rights for those of us who have a traditional view of marriage."

really? apparently its your 'civil right' to have people perceive you ONLY as heterosexual. im kind of at a loss for words.
you must be very insecure about your sexuality if youre threatened to think that someone might think that-GASP- you have teh gay!!!
a very ignorant person deserves the first title of douchebag of the [unspecified amount of time]. congrats!!

    iowa is amazing

iowa, of course legalised marriage for same sex couple. which is awesome.
some opponents say that the court "overstepped its boundaries" in this ruling. this is a very common argument, but it is false. US and state supreme courts have ruled on many controversial issues throughout the years including on Native American issues, what qualifies somebody as a certain race ,the black civil rights movement, and abortion. the court has always done this, and the constitution gives it this power, as an equal branch of our government.
in my opinion voter initiatives like proposition 8 are more of a miscarriage of justice than a court ruling for sure. we are a republic (or representative democracy) not a pure democracy. we elect leaders (or as in the case of some courts, they are appointed by elected officials) to rule on issues, we dont put all issues on the ballot, something that is costly and time consuming, and in some cases morally wrong (like putting the rights of a minority up for a vote by the majority), and NOWHERE in the federal government (or in some states, like minnesota), are voter initiatives allowed.
